Characteristics of Arabarte 10H
Arabarte 10H is a red wine from Rioja produced by Bodegas Arabarte. It is a varietal Tempanillo, the main variety grown in the fields of La Rioja.
The grapes used for Arabarte 10H come from vines over 50 years old, which grow mostly on clay-calcareous soil.
The strains grow protected from the wind thanks to the proximity of the Sierra Cantabria. Agriculture is rain-fed.
The production, by the conditions of the vineyard, is limited but high quality. Arabarte 10H grapes passes into the cellar, through a process of fermentation in stainless steel tanks with controlled temperatures (around 28 degrees).
The maceration, which lasts about two weeks is then made. During this period yeast activity is promoted.
Arabarte 10H is finally aged for 2 years in American and French oak barrels and finally rests in bottle before being marketed.
Bodegas Arabarte is the result of the union of three families of Alava, after raising and selling grapes generation after generation, they founded their own winery in 1990.

La Rioja is one of the most important areas of wine production in the world. It has a long history, and exceptional soils and climates. From the Tempranillo and Grenache varieties they make great red wines that are masterfully aged which demonstrates the experience passed from generation to generation.
It all started when three families from Álava which had been producing wine and working in oenology for several generations decided to bottle and commercialise the wine they used to only produce, age and sell in bulk to other prestigious wineries in the Rioja. This all happened in 1990.
