Antoine Sanzay La Haye Dampierre is an organic red wine made by Domaine Antoine Sanzay with the Cabernet Franc variety in the French region of AOC Saumur-Champigny, in Loire (France).
In 1999, Antoine Sanzay took over this domain in Varrains (Saumur) to produce his own wines, becoming one of the region’s best winemakers. He has a total of 28 hectares of organic vineyards and uses the most respectful winemaking methods to produce fruity, concentrated and fresh wines.
Antoine Sanzay La Haye Dampierre comes from a one hectare plot on calcareous soils with a sandy surface. This is a plot with vines aged around 40 years old and worked according to organic and ecological principles, seeking to always maintain the maximum expression of terroir. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
In the winery, the Antoine Sanzay La Haye Dampierre grapes firstly undergo a long maceration process. Then fermentation begins with native yeasts in cement tanks. Finally, the wine ages in fourth- and fifth-use French oak barrels for 6 months.
Antoine Sanzay La Haye Dampierre is a micro cuvée that expresses the complexity of the terroir in the Loire Valley in the most juicy, flexible and fresh way.
