Characteristics of Andreas Tscheppe Schwalbenschwarz Muskateller Macerated
Andreas Tscheppe Schwalbenschwanz Muskateller Macerated is an orange wine made with the Muscat variety by Andreas Tscheppe in the Weinland Österreich denomination, in Styria, Austria.
Andreas Tscheppe is one of the five winemakers in Styria that make up the “Schmecke das Lebe” community, which means something like “Try life” and refers to the philosophy they share about the holistic vision of nature that leads to a new lifestyle and, in this case, focusses on the production of lively wines and wines with soul, that come from sustainable cultivation of the soil and the vines. These wines are as authentic as nature itself.
The Andreas Tscheppe Schwalbenschwanz Muskateller Macerated wine is made from clusters that are manually harvested and come from plots with calcareous soils. Fermentation takes place spontaneously in different size barrels that are around 20 years old. The must stays there for about three weeks in contact with the skins.
The wine is racked three times and then aged for 18 months in the same tanks to finally be bottled without filtering, refining or adding sulphur.
Andreas Tscheppe is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after producers in Austria. He has stated his aims, and he works meticulously towards his goals, which means we can expect him to produce environmentally friendly wines made from the heart, which is even clear to see in each of the labels that showcase the identity of each wine.
