Characteristics of Alconte Crianza
Alconte Crianza is a red wine from the D.O Ribera del Duero produced by Bodegas Montecastro, a relatively young winery but with a great future ahead if we look at the vintages that they have already produced and currently are available on the market.
Alconte Crianza is a monovarietal from the varietal Tinto Fino, produced with grapes originating from 5 different plots of land with a great range of soils: clay, calcareous and loamy-sandy.
Due to this recent creation, the winery Montecastro works with various grape producers to obtain grapes from older vines, meanwhile, they are currently growing 26 hectares of vineyards that they have planted in the town of Castrillo de Duero.
Alconte Crianza is fermented in concrete containers for 15 days instead of the typical stainless steel containers, this is common practice for wines in France. Once the wine is finalised, the wine is macerated for a period of 5 days.
Alconte Crianza is aged for 14 months in French (70%) and American (30%) oak barrels.
A wine from the Ribera del Duero with a price a quality ratio that is practically unbeatable.
