A. J. Adam Rosé Spätburgunder is a monovarietal Pinot Noir rosé wine rated as a VDP Mosel-Saar-Ruwer. It is produced by Weingut A. J. Adam.
Weingut A. J. Adam is a young winery founded in 2000. It is located in Neumargen-Dhron, in the Moselle. Today the winery has approximately 3.5 hectares of Riesling vineyards aged from 30 to 65 years old, planted on steep slopes on the sides of the river. It is run by Andreas Adam, who was trained with one of the best producers in the Moselle and in Germany, Weingut Hetmann-Löwenstein. He vinifies with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks and in large oak barrels.
The vineyards for M. J. Adam Rosé Spätburgunder are on slopes with slate soils at an altitude of some 130 metres. They were planted in 1990 and 2013. They produce around 65 hectolitres per hectare and are harvested manually. The must ferments with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks, and the final wine rests a little in them until reaches its optimum point of consumption.
A. J. Adam Rosé Spätburgunder is an elegant, fresh and fruity Pinot Noir with a low alcohol level.
