Characteristics of 200 Monges Selección Especial
200 Monges Selección Especial is an excellent wine from La Rioja produced by Bodegas Vinícola Real. This is a small winery situated in the Riojan town of Albelda de Iregua.
The wine is made from a single variety Tempranillo which has been carefully selected from the best vineyards in the winery, the vines are on average 50 years old with low yields, which secures an excellent grape quality.
The harvest is done by hand and the grapes are transported in small 8kg boxes which ensures the grapes remain in an excellent condition until they reach the winery.
200 Monges Selección Especial undergoes a fermentation process in Allier wood vats for 10 days at a controlled temperature of 30 degrees. The aging takes place in new French oak barrels for 18 months in an excavated rock cave where they maintain the temperature and constant humidity for the whole year. After its time in the barrel, the wine finishes its aging process for 20 months in the bottle before it is released onto the market.
200 Monges Selección Especial is a great fruity wine which has been delicately made. It is possible that this is one of the most elegant wines in La Rioja. It is expressive and powerful with a long aging potential. We recommend that you decant the wine at least an hour before serving.
Serve at 18ºC
