1 + 1 = 3 Xarel·lo is an ecological white wine from the Penedès produced by the 1 + 1 = 3 winery. This striking winery name refers to the 3 people who deal with its main operation. Josep Piñol, Carles Esteve and Josep Anton Pinoll.

The winery is located in the highest part of the Penedes area, in the village of Guardiola (Barcelona).

1 + 1 = 3 Xarel·lo as the name suggests is a varietal white Xarel·lo. The grapes come from the Can Llerda vineyard, which has deep loamy soils.

For processing the grapes are destemmed for maceration at 8 ° C. Then the juice ferments slowly at a temperature of 17ºC. The fermentation ends in stainless steel with a 3 month batonage, seeking to give the wine more complexity and creaminess.

For optimum enjoyment it is best served at a temperature of between 5-8 ° C. The back label of the product will appear blue when the wine reaches this temperature.

1 + 1 = 3 Xarel·lo is an eco-certified organic white wine (CCPA).

Tasting notes 1 mes 1 igual a 3 Vinya Anais Xarel·lo

Sight Straw yellow. Clean and bright. Nose High intensity. Complex and enveloping aromas of stoned fruits, white background with flowers and notes of orange blossom. Taste Good entry, fresh, fruity and silky. Touches of citrus and very balanced minerals. Long and persistent.
Nose A complex and intense nose. Endless sensations, stone fruits (peach, apricot and medlar) and exotic fruits (mango and passion fruit) are combined with delicate and fine orange blossom aromas . Taste Fruity and fresh with a mineral touch and excellent balance. Reminiscences of the nose, particularly peach and mango. Full of nuances. A long and persistent aftertaste.
Nose Complex and intense nose. Endless sensations, fruits with pit (peach, apricot and medlar) and exotic fruits (mango and passion fruit) are combined with delicate and fine aromas of orange blossom. Taste Fruity, fresh, with a mineral touch, excellent balance. Reminiscences of the olfactory sensations of the peach, mango, full of nuances. Long and persistent aftertaste.

Today, the D.O Penedès is experimenting with viticulture and winemaking like no other region in Spain, home to a vast range of different grape varieties. The region is home to traditional white and red varieties, foreign ones, noble ones, permitted grapes, experimental grapes, and those that demostrate intrinsic qualities. As well as the grapes, the production techniques used are also worth noting, the location of the vineyards, the yields per hectare, the wines produced using traditional, original or even exclusive blends, the different ageing times, as well as the complexity of the different barrels used! But the reality is, given the vast diversity, it can be difficult to pinpoint what really defines a wine from Penedès, since there are so many types of wines and wineries in the region. However, the common denominator of all the wines from Penedès continues to be balance and quality.
