1+1=3 Vinya Anais Tempranillo y Syrah is a red wine produced by the winery 1+1=3 (U Més U Fan Tres) in Guardiola de Font Rubí, D.O. Penedès.
1+1=3 (U Més U Fan Tres) is the name of the project created in 2000 by Josep Anton Bonell and oenologist Josep Piñol, in the Masia Navinés (Guardiola de Font Rubí).
Their philosophy is commitment to the land and love for the vines. This, alongside their passion for their work, results in attractive, elegant, modern and pleasant wines.
The winery 1+1=3 (U Més U Fan Tres) is located in the heart of Penedés. They cultivate almost all their vineyards organically, giving importance to the native varieties, without leaving behind the international ones that have adjusted to the region so well.
1+1=3 Vinya Anais Tempranillo y Syrah is a wine made from Tempranillo and Syrah from their own vineyards, Can Prats and El Caballut. These vineyards range between 15 and 40 years old, planted on clay and calcareous soils at around 400 metres of altitude, influenced by the soft Mediterranean climate.
The grapes are manually harvested and placed in boxes. Once they arrive at the winery, they are destemmed and macerated in cold, each variety on their own. The alcoholic fermentation takes place with temperature control, 23ºC, and with the skins for 14-16 days. After the malolactic fermentation, it is aged for 4 months in second-use 300-litre French oak barrels.
1+1=3 Vinya Anais Tempranillo y Syrah is a juicy, fruity and light wine. It stands out for its fruity complexity, aromas of ripe red fruit, flowery and with slight spices. In the mouth it is easy to drink and dynamic.

NoseA complex wine with dark and red fruit as well as cherry and blueberry nuances. A good combination of pleasant smoked notes (owing to the excellent quality of the grapes), careful preparation and adequate ageing in French oak barrels.TasteFleshy on the palate. Fruity balsamic tannins, fruity notes, an excellent and persistent aroma on the palate. The result is a creative and current wine.
Today, the D.O Penedès is experimenting with viticulture and winemaking like no other region in Spain, home to a vast range of different grape varieties. The region is home to traditional white and red varieties, foreign ones, noble ones, permitted grapes, experimental grapes, and those that demostrate intrinsic qualities. As well as the grapes, the production techniques used are also worth noting, the location of the vineyards, the yields per hectare, the wines produced using traditional, original or even exclusive blends, the different ageing times, as well as the complexity of the different barrels used! But the reality is, given the vast diversity, it can be difficult to pinpoint what really defines a wine from Penedès, since there are so many types of wines and wineries in the region. However, the common denominator of all the wines from Penedès continues to be balance and quality.
1+1=3 (U Més U Fan Tres) started its commercial activity ten years ago, although the founders of this winery were already linked to the world of wine since a long time ago.
Regarding its name 1+1=3, it has its origin in the sum of different synergies: the passion for the well-done work in the vineyards and the wine-making of the oenologist Josep Piñol. Josep Anton Bonell, a lover of this precious fruit given by the region of Penedès, is who coordinates the ageing, the bottling and the preparation of the products, together with Carles Esteve, a prestigious wine-maker from the region of Garraf. Thanks to this, their wines and cavas have become word renowned in USA, Japan, Belgium, Holland, Finland, Italy and also places such as Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore… During this year, these products have been also recognised in Catalonia and other parts of Spain.
