Veyder-Malberg Grüner Veltliner Wösendorfer Hochrain is a white wine made with the Weingut Grüner Veltliner variety in Wachau by the Veyder-Malberg winery.

Winemaker Peter Veyder-Malberg made his dreams a reality by setting up his own winery in 2007 in the Wachau Valley. A rather unusual estate where the old vines are planted on impressive slopes of slate soil and where the Danube River provides the perfect conditions to bring out the natural balance of the strain. The results of his ecological, organic and biodynamic work have been so good that he is currently considered the father of biodynamic processes in the Wachau Valley.

Veyder-Malberg Grüner Veltliner Wösendorfer Hochrain comes from a large vineyard on very steep land where 30-year-old strains are planted in mineral soils with high water retention capacity. Organic methods are used, with no machinery in sight in order to preserve the environment. When the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are hand picked selectively.

Once they reach the winery, the grapes are not destemmed and the gentle pressing process lasts 6 to 8 hours. Veyder-Malberg Grüner Veltliner Wösendorfer Hochrain fermentation occurs naturally with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks and old barrels at a controlled temperature. The wine then ages on lees.
