Vallformosa Origen Brut Rosado is a rosé brut cava from the D.O Cava produced by the winery Vallformosa. It is a blend of 2 grape varieties: Grenache and Monatrell.

The climate in D.O Cava is ideal for growing grapes, since the presence of the Mediterranean Sea results in warm and mild weather.

The harvest of the grapes takes place manually and mechanically. Each variety of grape is harvested at the point of their optimal ripeness.

At the winery, the harvested grapes initially ferment in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 14 to 16º.The second fermentation takes place in the bottle, following traditional methods.

Before being disgorged, the final process in production, Vallformosa Origen Brut Rosado rests on it’s lees for one whole year.

Vallformosa is now a deeply rooted brand in the region of Penedés. It was forged in the love for the vineyard, constant work and ongoing research; these premises have always been the main objectives of this long family saga. Masía Vallformosa is a family-run winery based on a combination of tradition and modernity. It is a modern winery because it has grown and has always been at the forefront of the best winemaking technology. However, it is also a winery with a solid tradition, contracted over time by 5 generations of families dedicated to the cultivation of vineyards, and more recently, to the production and marketing of wines that vouch for an enviable value for money.

Cava was born under the constant shadow of its French counterpart, Champagne. However, produced over 1,200km away and a gap of over 100 years, Cava was always going to be a completely different product, even if produced using the same method and and sometimes with the same varieties. Firstly the climate and soil have a profound impact on the yields, while the plant strains that thrive here and completely different to those in the Champagne region. Fortunately, as more winemakers are becoming convinced of this, they are producing Cavas with their own personality, showing off the art of the second fermentation in the bottle like no other wine region in the world.
