D.O.Ca. Rioja (La Rioja)
Ramón Bilbao Edición Limitada Crianza is a red wine from DO Rioja produced by Bodegas Ramon Bilbao, a winery founded in 1924 by D. Ramón Bilbao Murga. However, Don Ramon and his wines produced and sold by the year 1896 in a small winery Street Las Cuevas in Haro, a town with one of the highest concentrations of wineries in the world.
The winery is located on the outskirts of Haro, one of the most privileged vine-growing wine regions. The climate in this area is continental to moderate, marked by a Cantabrian influence. Rainfall is recorded throughout the year. This wine is a varietal Tempranillo from 75 hectares of vineyards located in Rioja Alta, near the Ebro River.
The vineyards are planted on heterogeneous soils, shallow, well-drained, with occasional water shortages. As for processing, after a selection of the best grapes, grapes are fermented by hand in wooden vats at a controlled temperature. Finally, the wine undergoes a 14-month aging in new French oak barrels of Allier and American Virginia and 10 months in bottle.
We recommend decanting at least one hour before serving.
In the mouth it is balanced, tasty and strong. Maintains a vividness with its pleasant and persistent in the mouth.
An intense cherry red colour.
The nose has fruity aromas with floral notes of wood and undergrowth.
It is compact on the palate and reveals smoked notes of mineral and liquorice . Its solid tannins hold the fruit and give structure that is well kept along time.
