Muriel Reserva is a red wine from La Rioja produced by Bodegas Muriel. This is a varietal Tempranillo, grapes typical of this area.
The grapes come from a vineyard located in Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Alta. The soils are calcareous and poor in organic matter. The land is mainly cultivated using the glass method.
Fermentation and maceration lasts 15 days in stainless steel. Pumping is performed daily which gives an excellent extraction of colour and tannins.
Muriel Reserva is subsequently aged for 24 months in American and French oak barrels of 225 litres. During this time three racking are carried out.
Ultimately, this red wine is aged in the bottle for two years before being marketed.
Founded in 1926, Bodegas Muriel seeks a balance between roots and innovation. This is one of the symbols of Elciego, a people of a great and respected winemaking tradition.
