Mas la Mola Negre is a red wine produced by the Mas la Mola winery, in Poboleda, D.O.Q. Priorat.

Mas la Mola is a 7-hectare estate currently worked by Jordi Masdeu and Alessandro Marchessan, with the aim of making their own wines in the Priorat area. They joined forces to make high-quality wines with their own personality.

Their vines are planted in two different areas of Poboleda. The Macabeo vines, which are 35 years old, are planted on low-yield gravelly soils, and the old Garnacha, Cariñena and Garnacha Blanca vines are planted on sloping terrains with licorella slate, lying at 350-450 metres above sea level.

The Mas la Mola Negre wine is made with Garnacha Tinta and Garnacha Peluda from low-yield vines aged between 35 and 70 years old. The harvest is carried out manually with the grapes selected in the vineyard and the winery. The grapes go through a cold maceration before fermentation. This wine is aged for 15 months in fine- and medium-grain French Allier oak barrels.

Priorat is craftsmanship and tradition, old and robust vines that are grown and born deep inside the province of Tarragona. They are grown on slopes that are sleety with low fertility and difficult to grow in. In Priorat they produce great red wines of an excellent quality, a maroon colour, robust, dense and rich flavour, intense aromas and sometimes there are reflections present of minerals from the soils.
