Marqués de Riscal Sauvignon Blanc is a white wine from Rueda produced by the Marqués de Riscal winery. This wine is a French varietal Sauvignon Blanc.
The grapes come from vineyards, whose average age is over 25, in part of the 70 acres owned by the winery.
After the harvest, Marqués de Riscal Sauvignon Blanc goes through a period of cold maceration. Subsequently, the juice is extracted and clarified and a slow fermentation with the intention of preserving the aromas of the grapes is carried out. This process is performed at between 13º and 15º.
Marqués de Riscal Sauvignon Blanc is finally aged in contact with its lees before being bottled and marketed.
The Marqués de Riscal winery, which was founded in 1858, was one of those pushing in 1980 for the establishment of the Rueda.
It works in three denominations of origin: the Rueda, La Rioja and Castilla y León. The success of Marqués de Riscal is recognized worldwide, as the winery exports 60% of its total production to over 100 countries.
