Goru Gold is a red wine coupage of the Monastrell, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah varieties, produced by Ego Bodegas in the DO Jumilla, in Murcia, Spain.
The Goru Gold wine is made using the best Monastrell, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah clusters, which are harvested manually at their optimum ripeness, around the third week of October.
The grapes ferment and macerate in contact with their skins for around 30 days at 28ºC and the resulting wine is aged for 12 months in new American and French oak barrels.
Ego Bodegas is a fairly new initiative by Santos Ortiz and Ioana Paunescu who work with passion and drive to create wines that reflect the magic of the Jumilla terroir and the character of its flagship variety, Monastrell, producing that liquid that, as Socrates said, brings sweet joy.
And this is how Goru Gold was made. A sweet wine, with sweet and complex tannins, this is a sensual and irresistible red that is full of Mediterranean character.
