Domaine Pignier GPS is a natural and biodynamic white wine made from the Chardonnay, Poulsard and Savagnin varieties by Domaine Pignier in the AOC Côtes du Jura (France).

The Domaine Pignier winery lies on the slopes of Montaigu, in Jura (France). This land was worked by the Carthusian monks as early as the 13th century. Since 1794, it has been owned by the Pignier family. Brothers Jean Etienne, Antoine and Marie Florence, the family’s seventh generation, now run the winery and work to uphold the family tradition whilst also using biodynamic and ecological principles. They have been Demeter and Ecocert certified since 2002.

Domaine Pignier GPS comes from vines planted on soils with black clay loam and limestone on lees slate. They work according to the principles of biodynamic agriculture, using animal manure, silica and herbal preparations. With a limited yield of between 20hl and 40hl / h, the harvest is carried out manually. The grapes are selected in the vineyard and immediately transported to the winery in small boxes.

In the winery, the three grape varieties used to make Domaine Pignier GPS are slowly pressed together. Then they ferment with native yeasts in oak barrels and without adding sulphur. Finally, 7 months later it is bottled without clarifying or filtering, following the lunar calendar, on flower day.

Named after the first letters of the three local varieties it is made with (White Gamay -an old name for Chardonnay-, Poulsard and Savagnin), the Domaine Pignier GPS wine is made through minimal intervention and seeks to highlight the lightness, fruitiness and finesse of each variety.
