Domaine des Marnes Blanches Savagnin En Jensillard Ouillé is a natural, barrel-aged white wine made in the AOC Côtes du Jura (Jura) by Domaine des Marnes Blanches with the Savagnin Muscaté variety.
Two young winemakers, Geraud and Pauline Frèmont, started Domaine des Marnes Blanches in 2006 near Saint Agnes, in Jura. Their vineyards lie in the old Saint-Claude Abbey area; part of the wine route where the soil is mostly white loam. Which is where the winery gets its name from. They are known for producing natural and organic wines combining tradition with technological innovation.
The Domaine des Marnes Blanches Savagnin En Jensillard Ouillé vineyard is cultivated fully by hand. These are old vines of about 60 years old grown using organic farming methods, and not using any pesticides, or products that could damage the vineyard. The only machinery that is used, if needed, is a custom designed tractor used to combat weeds, strain by strain.
When the Domaine des Marnes Blanches Savagnin En Jensillard Ouillé grapes reach the winery, they are gently pressed and then they ferment spontaneously with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks.
Domaine des Marnes Blanches Savagnin En Jensillard Ouillé is a fine white wine with aromas that reveal the native Savagnin variety at its most natural.
