Clos Des Fous Pucalán Arenaria Pinot Noir is a red wine made by Clos Des Fous with the Pinot Noir variety in the Aconcagua Valley, Chile.
Clos Des Fous, which means “vineyard of fools”, was set up in 2008 by Pedro Parra, François Massoc, Paco Leyton and Albert Cussen, four friends who decided to produce wines in different soils, altitudes and climates. Everywhere they go they look for the same characteristic: maximum typicity. These are secluded wine regions that produce unique wines.
Clos Des Fous Pucalán Arenaria Pinot Noir comes from a 4-hectare vineyard separated into 13 different plots by soil type. These are low fertility terroirs with a clayey surface on marine rock. The vines are cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture and the selected grapes are harvested manually when they reach optimum ripeness.
In the winery, the Clos Des Fous Pucalán Arenaria Pinot Noir grapes ferment spontaneously with native yeasts in cement tanks. The wine is then aged for 18 months in French oak barrels before being bottled.
Clos Des Fous Pucalán Arenaria Pinot Noir is a single-variety wine that generously displays the full potential of the Pinot Noir variety in Chilean terroir.
