Bardos Reserva is a red wine from the Ribera del Duero produced by Bodegas Bardos, owned by the Vintae Group. It is a blend of Tinta del Pais (90%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%).
The grapes used come from old vineyards of low production, chosen from the best plots of the Ribera del Duero.
Harvesting is done in the first week of October. The grapes are harvested in boxes of no more than 15 kilos to prevent the breakage of clusters. These are chosen, once they have arrived at the winery on a selection table.
Bardos Reserva is fermented and macerated in 15,000 litre tanks for about a month at a controlled temperature of 18ºC.
Subsequently the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels. During this time, pumping occurs weekly and the barrels are monitored individually.
Bardos Reserva is aged for 16 months in new French oak barrels in underground cellars at a steady and controlled temperature of about 14°C.
The Vintae Group is known for innovation, energy and youth. They makes wines in nine different Spanish wine regions.
