Atalier Albariño is a barrel-aged white wine made by Raúl Pérez in the D.O. Rías Baixas (Galicia) with the native Albariño variety.

Raúl Pérez, one of the architects of new-generation viticulture in Spain, runs various projects in different wine-growing areas with a common theme: high quality grapes. He has made wines in Bierzo, Rías Baixas, Ribeira Sacra, Monterrei, Madrid and even outside Spain in Portugal and South Africa.

The Atalier Albariño project was set up by Raúl Pérez in collaboration with his friend and colleague Rodrigo Méndez in the Val do Salnés, Rías Baixas (Galicia). These are 70-year-old vines planted in granite soils which, together with an Atlantic climate, produce the sought-after freshness of the Albariño variety. They are cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.

In the winery, the Atalier Albariño grapes are gently pressed and spontaneously fermented with native yeasts in different sized foudres for 12 months. This enhances the sensations of the wine, maintaining the variety’s characteristic freshness.

Atalier Albariño is a brilliant Albariño with body, freshness and salinity. A limited production wine from the acclaimed Rául Pérez that is not to be missed.

Raúl Pérez is a philosopher of viticulture. He is also a consultant, apart from an oenologist and the most popular producer of unique wines in Spain. His name is known by a lot of good enthusiasts, and some of his wines are on the agenda of Robert Parker. However, his labels are produced in very small quantities, which makes his wine quite hard to find. He makes his own wines, wines for others and in collaboration with other people. He participates in family projects and other formal and informal ones. He breaks the rules, reaching the limits. He sometimes crosses the line and even crosses borders ... Not bad considering he wanted to become a doctor! Raúl Pérez Raúl Pérez is a philosopher of viticulture. Rías Baixas wines would not be where they are today without the native Albariño grape variety. Although red wines are also produced in Rías Baixas, practically 100% of Rías Baixas wines are white. Among them, the vast majority of them are made with the Albariño grape. As well as young wines, fresh and aromatic, the region also makes wines aged in the barrels, complex wines with great personalities. Albariño wines can either be single varieties, or be part of a blend with other characteristic grapes of the region: Treixadura, Loureira Blanca and Godello.
