Amaren Selección de Viñedos is a red wine from the DO La Rioja region produced by the Amaren winery. This wine is a blend of 2 different grape varieties: Tempranillo (90%) and Grenache (10%).
The grapes used for Amaren Selección de Viñedos are grown on vines that have an average age of 45 years. The harvest is carried out manually. The grapes are transported to the winery in baskets and once at the winery are placed on a double selection table: where firstly the best bunches are selected, then the best grapes.
The two grape varieties used to make Amaren Selección de Viñedos undergo the various phases of the winemaking process separately to ensure maximum aromatic expression of each grape variety and that each variety is able to achieve its full potential. Amaren Selección de Viñedos is aged for 12 months in American (50%) and French (50%) oak barrels before being bottled and placed onto the market.
The Amaren winery was founded by a renowned winemaker who decided to dedicate the project to his mother ángeles. Amaren is actually the Basque word for mother. Founded in 2009, the winery now boasts over 52 hectares of vineyards at their disposal to make their wines, which are only sold on the best vintages.
