Characteristics Altún Reserva
Altún Reserva is a monovarietal Tempranillo red wine from the D.O.Ca Rioja produced by Bodegas Altún.
Bodegas Altún is in Baños de Ebro, in Rioja Alavesa. From the winery, located on the right bank of the Ebro River, you can see the Sierra de la Demanda and the Sierra de Cantabria.
Altún Reserva is harvested by hand and in boxes. Once in the winery, the grapes pass through a sorting table. The grapes are then destemmed, squeezed and fermented, controlling the temperature. After fermentation, the wine is also macerated with the skins for 15 days in a tank in order to finish extracting enough to be able to give the wine the desired ageing. The wine is then aged for 18 months in French and American oak barrels. Lastly, to finish polishing the wine and to ensure it comes to market in optimal conditions, the wine spends 18 months in the bottle.
Altún Reserva is a spicy wine, with toasted touches and a full and powerful mouthfeel.
