3 Viñerones La Esquirla del Bardallo 2019 is a luscious, profound, savory, and fruit-forward red. The bouquet reveals dark fruits (blueberries, blackberries, plums), sweet spices (cinnamon, vanilla, refined cocoa), and a hint of coconut. On the palate, it is well-structured, with silky tannins. Exceptionally smooth and approachable. Meaty and articulate.

About 3 Viñerones La Esquirla del Bardallo 2018

Three winegrowers were brought together by one thing: an extraordinary vineyard in an area known as El Bardallo, located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra (La Rioja Alta), which enjoys the benefits of its proximity to the Sierra de Cantabria, with a cooler microclimate that allows the grapes to ripen over a longer period of time and produce more balanced wines. Javier García (4 Monos), Carlos Sánchez (Las Bacantes) and Nacho Jiménez (Alma, vinos únicos) share chemistry and complicity. And this shared knowledge and enthusiasm results in unique wines that are full of personality.
 
They also fell in love with the El Bardallo plot because of its limestone core, a characteristic shared with great vineyards around the world that are responsible for wines with refined tannins and an elegant mineral texture.
 
La Esquirla del Bardallo comes from this 35-year-old vineyard where Tempranillo (red) and Viura (white) grapes are grown following the principles of biodynamic agriculture. 
 
After the harvest, which is carried out manually, both varieties, Tempranillo and Viura, are co-fermented, with 25% of the grapes whole and with stems, using native yeasts. The resulting wine undergoes malolactic fermentation naturally in used French oak barrels, where it also spends another 12 months finishing and rounding out.
 
Esquirla del Bardallo is a fruity and very fresh wine, with a pleasant complexity. A pleasant novelty that offers the best interpretation of an exceptional terroir through the good work of three figures from Spanish viticulture.

Esquirla del Bardallo 2018 is a red wine with exquisitely concentrated fruit. Black fruits predominate and are accompanied by nuances of sweet spices (vanilla, cinnamon) and a subtle mineral touch. The palate is fresh and juicy, where it flows expressively, with balsamic notes that accompany the fruit and provide freshness. In short, a red wine well worth trying. A very limited production.
