About Whitcraft Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir

Whitcraft Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir is an organic red wine made by the Californian winery Whitcraft Winery in Santa Barbara County with the Pinot Noir variety.
 
The Whitcraft Winery was set up in 1985 by Chris and Kathleen Whitcraft. In 2007, their son Drake Whitcraft took charge of the project and, following the advice of great wine gurus in California and Australia, he decided to make a typically Central Coast wine that is pure, honest and delicate.
 
Whitcraft Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir comes from various plots that are influenced by the Pacific Ocean. These vines are planted on sandy, calcareous and clay soils and cultivated using organic agriculture with organic treatments and no chemical products. Finally, the harvest is carried out manually.
 
In the winery, the Whitcraft Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir grapes are not destemmed and they ferment spontaneously with native yeasts. The wine is then aged for 14 months in used oak barrels. Finally the wine is bottled filtered, clarified and with enough SO2 to stabilise it.
 
Whitcraft Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir is one of today’s emerging wines from the Central Coast of California. A funky, pure and honest red with a Pacific influence.
2020

Whitcraft Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2021 is an elegantly smooth, refreshing, and dynamic red. It is guaranteed to captivate your senses! The tension on the palate, coupled with its floral aromatics, renders it an exceptionally enticing wine, boasting a unique and astonishing hint of thyme and lavender. Raspberry and blueberry notes will emerge during the tasting, complemented by a delectable and harmoniously balanced acidity. The finish is rich with a delightful earthy character.
2018 Whitcraft Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir 2018 is a smooth red wine with soft aromas of red fruit and sweet spicy notes. On the palate it is light, fresh and very pure. A wine with honest rusticity and a herbal touch.
