About Nittnaus Rose Zweigelt

While classic regions such as Bordeaux, Burgundy, or Barolo are reliable choices, the world of wine is vast, always offering new territories to explore. Until recently, Burgenland in Austria was a well-kept secret, unknown to many wine enthusiasts. Today, it shines brightly, thanks to the dedication and vision of vintners like the Nittnaus brothers.
The Gebrüder Nittnaus winery, located in Gols, Austria's largest wine-producing commune, has been cultivating family vineyards for over 300 years. In 2019, brothers Andreas and Hans Michael took over the business, supported by their parents, Hans and Christine. Hans Michael is responsible for defining the style and expressiveness of the wines, while Andreas manages marketing and presence at tastings and events, blending tradition with a modern vision.

Nittnaus Rosé Zweigelt emerges from rich, fertile soils, with a surface layer of sand, gravel, and organic matter that imparts character and vitality to the wine. Every detail is meticulously attended to. Vegetation covers the vineyards part of the year, and precise pruning and foliage management ensure healthy vines and perfect grapes until harvest. At the winery, two-thirds of the grapes are gently pressed, and one-third comes from maceration juice, all fermenting in temperature-controlled stainless steel to preserve freshness, aroma, and the terroir's identity.

Nittnaus Rosé Zweigelt is a fresh, aromatic, and elegant rosé, where each sip reflects not only the personality of the zweigelt variety but also the passion and vision of the Nittnaus, who have transformed a previously little-known corner of Austria into an international wine benchmark.
