About Mascorrubí Captirot

In the midst of the climate crisis, embarking on a viticultural project is no longer merely about planting vines and hoping for the best must. Sustainability and resilience against extreme weather events have become indispensable pillars. Ernest Pérez-Mas, co-founder of Parlem Telecom, was acutely aware of this when he decided to transition from the digital world to that of wine, establishing a winery that would not only serve as a haven for indigenous varieties but also as a model of environmental commitment.

This responsible approach is evident not only in the choice of land and agricultural practices—with vineyards situated over 500 metres above sea level in Pla de Manlleu, on clay-limestone soils—but also in every detail of the process, from manual harvesting to careful bottling and packaging, all designed to minimise environmental impact.

One of the standout wines of this philosophy is Mascorrubí Captirot, an authentic and robust blend of garnacha negra and sumoll, cultivated using traditional bush and trellis techniques that respect the natural cycle of the vine. Its fermentation and maceration take place in stainless steel tanks, preserving the wine's purity and freshness, followed by partial ageing in French oak barrels for 10 months, and an additional 6 months in the bottle to achieve perfect balance.

The result is Mascorrubí Captirot, a red wine with character, depth, and elegance, capturing the essence of the mountain and the authenticity of the terroir. A wine that, like its creator, is ready to face the challenges of the present and future, demonstrating that innovation and respect for nature can always go hand in hand.
