About Lusco

Lusco is a white wine produced by the winery Pazos de Lusco in Salvaterra do Miño, D.O. Rías Baixas.

Pazos de Lusco is a winery that was founded in 1996 in the heart of Rías Baixas, in the sub-region of Condado de Tea. Until 2009, the winery was located in the same premises as in an old traditional farm or ‘pazo’ from the 16th century, Pazo Piñeiro. Currently, they have new facilities a few metres from the old winery.

The grapes used by Pazos de Lusco to make their wines come from the 5 hectares of Pazo Piñeiro and other controlled farms in the area. This way, they obtain different grapes according to locations and types of soil.
 

Lusco is a wine made with Albariño from vineyards controlled by the winery in the area, planted on soils with poor organic matter that reduce production and increase quality.

The harvest is carried out manually. Once the grapes arrive at the winery, they go through maceration for 6 hours and a light pressing. It ferments with native yeasts in stainless steel deposits at a controlled temperature of 16ºC. After the fermentation, it rests for 6 months in the stainless steel deposits.

Lusco 2019 is a crisp white wine. On the nose, it is pronounced, exuding scents of peach, baked apple, melon, and almond. The palate experiences a sharp acidity, with a medium body. It is refreshing and possesses a saline quality.
2017 Lusco 2017 is an aromatic, fresh and fruity wine. This vintage shows all the character of the variety. A lot of fruit on the nose, melon, pear, lemon and floral notes. In the mouth, it is pleasant, with a certain volume and freshness.
