About Fulcro 'O Equilibrio' Albarino

For years, the Moldes family wine never left home. It was crafted to be shared around the table, like so many other families in the Salnés. That was until 2009 when Manuel Moldes decided to take a step further and transform that domestic tradition into a venture that today has secured its place among the essential names of the DO Rías Baixas.
 
Thus, Bodegas Fulcro was born, a small winery that literally started in a garage, where the passion for albariño and the reverence for the Salnés landscape outweigh production figures. With a modest annual output of just 30,000 bottles, Moldes has chosen to grow slowly, producing only the wines with which he truly identifies. This approach to winemaking soon caught the attention of figures like Rodri Méndez (Forjas del Salnés), who accompanied him in the early stages of this endeavour.
 
From this passion emerges Fulcro 'O Equilibrio' Albariño, a wine cultivated in a single plot between Meaño and Sanxenxo, very close to the Atlantic. There, the vines flourish on sandy and granitic soils, under marine influence, in a vineyard managed with ecological principles and minimal intervention both in the field and the winery to preserve the identity of the place.
 
In the winery, the production of Fulcro 'O Equilibrio' Albariño adheres to the same philosophy. The wine ferments in used barrels of 500 and 700 litres and remains on its lees for over a year, without undergoing malolactic fermentation. This decision allows the freshness and natural tension of the albariño to remain intact while simultaneously providing a broader texture and greater complexity.
