About Vins de Pagesos i Pageses

“We want to interpret wine as another food and honour the price of grapes and the work of the farmer on the land”. This is the philosophy Salvador Batlle has built his wine project Conexió Cósmica on in the town of Agullana, in L'Empordà (Catalonia), right next to the border between France and Spain. As the name of his winery suggests, this new generation winemaker aims to create a cosmic relationship between the sky and the plants in each of his wines. To do this, he works with minimum intervention and maximum respect, producing unique wines that touch the heart.

Packaged in a bag in box, he presents Vins de Pagesos i Pageses, a domestic wine to enjoy without prejudice and no need to understand it. Made from cariñena tinta, cariñena blanca, garnacha gris and monastrell, Batlle doesn’t fit into any particularly type of wine. Just like in times gone by, he blends all the white and red varieties he finds in the vineyard, playing with the proportions. These vineyards lie in a very pure area that experiences the strong winds that are typical of l'Empordà, the Tramontana, and they are surrounded by cork oak forest, granite stone and a lot of biodiversity within just a few kilometres. Organic agriculture is practiced with biodynamic treatments and taking into account cosmic energies. The grapes are harvested by hand and each variety is harvested separately, depending on the optimum point of ripeness. In the winery, he aims to create an atmosphere of calm, avoiding the energies of anger and frustration, because this negativity can affect the final process of the wine. A natural vinification that allows the grapes to express themselves.

As Batlle himself says, Vins de Pagesos i Pageses is not a single-vineyard wine, nor is it a conceptual wine to drink just one glass of at a time. This is an easy and very enjoyable wine that introduces people to the world of natural wine.

Vins de Pagesos i Pageses 2021 Bag in Box 3 L is a juicy red wine with a light red colour and very pleasant aromas of fresh red fruit. On the palate it is fresh, light and well structured. Very pleasant to drink.
