About Matassa Blanc
Matassa Blanc is a natural white wine from the Languedoc-Rossellón area that is a coupage of Grey Grenache and Macabaeo produced by Domaine Matassa.
Domaine Matassa is a winery in the south of France with small plots of very old vines, from 30 to 115 years old. In total they add up to 15 hectares of Grey Grenache, Macabeo, Muscat, Hairy Grenache, Cariñena and Mourvedre that they cultivate according to the principles of biodynamics. In producing them they use very little sulphur and their wines do not involve auxiliary processing additives.
The vineyards for Matassa Blanc are cultivated organically and biodynamically. Their soils are composed of schist, have an average yield of about 15 hectolitres per hectare and are harvested by hand.
To produce Matassa Blanc the vintage is pressed and the must is fermented with native yeasts. Lastly, the wine is aged on lees for 12 to 18 months in 2,000 litre foudres and in 500 litre barrels.
Matassa Blanc is a fresh and fruity natural white with spicy and mineral touches.

| 2018 | Matassa Blanc 2018 has an explosive nose with lots of white fruit, spices and flint. On the palate it is fresh, three-dimensional and vibrant, with a lingering finish. | |
