About La Biancara SoSan Veneto

We live in a world where industrial perfection seems to be the norm, yet there is something far more compelling in the authentic, the spontaneous, the imperfect. Natural wine is an invitation to rediscover all of that, and Angiolino Maule was one of the pioneers in embracing this philosophy. After 12 years in the restaurant industry, he decided to take a radical turn: alongside his wife, he purchased 6 hectares in the hills of Sorio, between Vicenza and Verona, and embarked on a project that would change his life and the lives of many others.

La Biancara was born with a clear premise: to restore dignity to the grapes, stripping away the superstructures of industrial wine and allowing each bottle to speak for itself, reflecting the terroir and the passion of its creators. And although many doubted his minimal intervention approach, today his winery is a clear example of how the natural can be extraordinary.

A prime example of this philosophy is La Biancara SoSan Veneto, a wine crafted entirely from the tai rosso (grenache) variety sourced from the hills of Sossano, in the Colli Berici region. These lands, with their calcareous, clayey soil and white rocks of marine origin, bestow the wine with a unique personality. The grapes are pressed and fermented with the skins for about 15 days, imparting character and depth. It then rests for 18 months in oak barrels, refining and gaining complexity without losing its essence.

La Biancara SoSan Veneto reminds us that there is no need to seek perfection when the authentic and the natural have so much to offer. Indeed, sometimes the most beautiful aspect of wine (and life) is to let things flow as they are, without the need for alterations. Cheers to the genuine!
