About Isabelle et Denis Pommier Chablis

In the realm of organic viticulture, red ladybirds are not just charming but true warriors playing a crucial role in natural pest control. These small predators feed on aphids and other harmful insects to the vines, helping to keep the vineyards healthy in a completely natural way, without the need for pesticides or harsh chemicals. Their presence is a symbol of biodiversity and balance in the vineyard ecosystem. With this same respect for nature, Isabelle and Denis Pommier, a couple who started their winemaking project in 1990 with just two hectares of family vineyards in the village of Poinchy, in Chablis (Burgundy), have made this insect their emblem. In fact, their labels feature a small red ladybird, paying homage to this natural ally and their commitment to sustainable and responsible viticulture.

Today, the estate spans 16 hectares, and with the desire to offer wines with soul that reflect their essence, they present Isabelle et Denis Pommier Chablis, Chardonnay made from 25-year-old vines. Committed to organic farming from the beginning, there has always been great respect for the environment, and they are among the few estates that hand-harvest a significant portion of their production. In the winery, the grapes undergo two fermentations, one alcoholic with native yeasts and one malolactic, followed by 12 months of aging in vats.

Isabelle et Denis Pommier Chablis is more than a wine. It is the transmission of a heritage marked by history, respect for the environment, and dedication to a craft that blends tradition and modernity, offering the world wines that speak of the careful work of the land and its biodiversity.

Isabelle et Denis Pommier Chablis 2022 is a moderately aromatic and expressive white wine. On the nose, it reveals notes of apple and vineyard peach.
