Dominio del Bendito Mi Verdadejo 2021 is a broad and enveloping white wine, featuring aromas of ripe peach and grapefruit intertwined with delicate floral and herbaceous notes, set against a backdrop of vanilla, fine wood, and a suggestive saline hint. On the palate, it is dry, creamy, and full-bodied, with a citrus acidity that adds tension and keeps the ensemble fresh and elegant. About Dominio del Bendito Mi Verdadejo

Who said that D.O. Toro was exclusively red wine territory? Among the old vines of this dry and luminous land survives a small rarity: a century-old Verdejo, planted on its own roots, which seems to have found another way to express the landscape. Dominio del Bendito Mi Verdadejo boasts the freshness and tension of its 700-metre altitude, yet also an unexpected breadth that defies any preconceived notions about the variety.
 
Dominio del Bendito was born in 2004, when Frenchman Antony Terryn discovered in the old vineyards of Toro the perfect place to develop his unique vision of wine. Since then, his project has been built around the land, manual labour, and a vigneron’s perspective that seeks to preserve the identity of each plot. In a region known for its characterful reds, Terryn has also ventured into creating small white gems like this one, allowing an extraordinary vineyard to speak for itself.
 
Dominio del Bendito Mi Verdadejo comes from these tiny, concentrated vines that have been sinking their roots into this landscape for over a century. The direct and slow pressing leads to fermentation in French oak barrels, followed by around nine months ageing on its fine lees. The result is a white wine that is creamy, broad, and rounded, with volume and depth, yet also with that fresh tension that keeps the whole in motion. A Verdejo that leans more towards the texture of a great white inspired by Burgundy than any light, predictable version of this grape.
 
There are wines that tell you where they come from; others make you look at that place with new eyes. Dominio del Bendito Mi Verdadejo belongs to the latter. It is made for a leisurely table, for baked fish, a good cheese, and conversations that are in no hurry to end. The D.O. Toro changes its landscape when viewed through a glass like this.
