About Antoine Jobard Meursault Les Tillets

Antoine Jobard Meursault Les Tillets is a single varietal Chardonnay white wine made by Antoine Jobard under the Meursault / Côte-d'Or AOC in Burgundy, France.

 

The bunches Antoine Jobard Meursault Les Tillets wine is made with come from vines which grow on a plot with an area less than one hectare where clay-calcareous soils predominate. Upon reaching the winery, the grapes go through a pneumatic pressing. The must settles and alcoholic fermentation begins. The resulting wine goes through malolactic fermentation in barrels, without battonage, and is aged for two years in barrels, of which around 20% are for new use.

 

François Jobard has been quietly making great wines at Meursault for more than 50 years. Today it’s his son Antoine who’s taken over the winery and continues to create elegant, taut and refined white wines; precise wines which avoid excessive use of oak and uncontrolled battonages. Father and son have without a doubt managed to create and maintain the great name of Jobard as a hallmark of sobriety and elegance at Meursault, a company which stands behind great Chardonnay white wines with extraordinary aging potential and which are expressed in all their splendor with the passing of time.

 

2017 Antoine Jobard Meursault Les Tillets 2017 is a profiled white wine that on the nose offers aromas reminiscent of pears, lemons or fresh pastries, and cereals such as oats accompanied by a touch of iodine. On the mouth, it has a medium to full-bodied palate where the fruit is balanced with its acidity and where a chalky note appears. A white wine which is very accessible, even in its first year.
