Features
One of the finest wines of Rueda, in which the union of the Verdejo and the wood is more elegant and seductive.
The year 2008 was marked by the abundant rain and a low average temperature. Due to the frosts in May the harvest shrank by 35%. These low temperatures delayed germination and maturation, and therefore, delayed the harvest in several weeks.
It is made of Verdejo from old vines (aged of more than 40 years) planted on terraces, high on the banks of the River Duero. After a careful selection in the vineyard and the manual harvest, the grapes are pressed entire and with the stems. After a light clarification, the wine is fermented in French oak barrels from Allier, 45% of which are new and the rest of second and third year. The wine rests in the same barrels for 6-7 months.
Elegant, deep, well-bodied and very tasty wine. A pleasure!
