Features

Excellent Rioja wine made of a careful selection of the oldest vines from the best vineyards owned by the winery, with a low productivity.
The 2004 vintage was considered excellent by the Control Board of the Designation of Origin Rioja.
This wine is characterised by a very long malolactic fermentation with the skins in Allier barrels for 12 months. It was aged in new French oak barrels for 18 months and rested in the bottle for 20 months approximately.
It is recommended to decant this wine about two hours before serving it.
A wine for ageing that can be stored for long (20-30 years).
One of the finest wines froma Rioja. Very expressive and powerful wine.

Color

Intense dark cherry colour, with violet reflections and a high robe. Elegant and dense tears.

Nose

Wine with a high intensity and great aromatic complexity. Its expressive notes of ripe black fruit are released along with notes of reduction, bitter cocoa and spicy notes on an intense mineral background with lots of personality and hints of understory.

Flavour

Intense and powerful attack and mid palate. This wine shows great, very nice and tasty complexity and a silky, fleshy and full-bodied texture. Its marked notes of fruit are mixed with very creamy toasted and cocoa aromas. It has noble tannins and an excellent acidity. Very long and very persistent finish.
