Features
Rioja wine with the highest expression of the variety Tempranillo, produced by a winery founded by the family Eguren, which has a long tradition in the production of Rioja wine.
Its elaboration is characterized by the special care with which it is treated from the vineyard, planted in 1975 and with a yield of 3,000 Kg/ha, until its harvest in 2006.
Grapes are manually selected both in the vineyard and in the winery. They are also manually harvested in boxes and 100% destemmed. Before its alcoholic fermentation (which takes 8-10 days at 30° with gradual pumping), it undergoas a 5-day maceration at 6ºC. The malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak barrels on the lees for 6 months. The wine is finally aged in the same barrels for 16-18 months with racking every 4 months.
Bottled in September 2008.
Can be aged in good conditions until 2020.
One of the finest wines of the Rioja, which will not disappoint you.
Color
Cherry colour with violet trims. Medium-high robe. Dense tears.
Nose
Intense and powerful aromas. At the beginning, it realeases its roasted, smoked, milky and spicy notes (cocoa, vanilla). When it opens up, the red fruit gains in intensity and complexity. Very harmonious.
Flavour
Very good attack. Powerful and expressive wine with, sweet, silky and meaty mid palate. Good load of fruit (berries), along with good notes of toasted. Balanced and with a marked acidity. Soft tannins. Long and persistent aftertaste filled with lots of toasted and spicy aromas.
A very elegant, expressive and powerful wine.
