Features
Rioja reserva wine produced by one of the classic wineries of the area, Marqués de Riscal.
Barón de Chirel is only produced in great vintages and in a very limited production, since it is made of a selection of very old vines, aged of more than 40 years, with a very low yield but with very high quality.
The year 2005 was characterized by low temperatures and frost, and by the scarcity of rains since May. After the manual harvest and the selection in the selection table, it is fermented at 26°C and macerated for a maximum of 12 days. The malolactic fermentation took place in 20,000 l wood casks and the 20-month ageing, in American oak barrels. This wines stayed in the bottle for a minimum of 12 months to round up.
Bottled in June 2008.
Excellent evolution in the bottle for the years to come.
