A long-aged wine that has become a classic.
Selected harvest. The ageing starts with a 6-month rest in American oak barrels. After this, the wine is put into 225-litre French and American oak casks. This wine is clarified with egg white and aged in the bottle for 12 months.
It is recommended to airate it for a while before it is served.
In good conditions, this wine will improve if kept in the bottle for the next 3-5 years.

Tasting report Muga Crianza Magnum 2007

Intense cherry colour with maroon edges. Very bright wine with good tears.

Elegant and intense aromas. The toasted and roasted notes gain power on first nosing, over the aromas of ripe red and black fruit. When it opens up, the aromas are balanced and some spicy, liquorice, leather, mocha and chocolate notes are also felt along with subtle balsamic and mineral touches.

Very strong and voluminous attack and a tasty, nice, meaty and fresh mid palate. The notes of fruit dominate on the wooden aromas since the notes of juicy and ripe black fruit are more powerful. Noble and well integrated tannins are also felt and although they are not unpleasant they still need to round out a little more. Long and persistent finish which leaves fruity and spicy sensations.
Very fine, elegant and balanced wine from La Rioja.
