Features Muga Crianza 2008
A classic wine from Rioja with a very long ageing, made of a complete blend of the typical varieties of the area and a traditional winemaking based on a long aging in wood. Once the grapes are destemmed, the wine is fermented in oak tanks and is racked into American and French oak barrels, made by their own coopers, in which it rests for 24 months. Once clarified with natural egg white, the wine is bottled and rests in the bottle for 12 months.
It is recommended to aerate this wine for one hour before serving it.
If stored in good conditions, this wine will improve in the bottle at least for the next 5-6 years.
An elegant and intense red wine which will not disappoint you.
Tasting report Muga Crianza 2008
Color
Intense red cherry colour with red edges and purple reflections. Very clean and bright. Medium robe and abundant dense tear.
Nose
Its intense notes of very expressive red and black fruit give way to aromatic flowers and some initial toasted aromas. When it opens up, the wine becomes more complex an the notes of fruit get mixed with some spicy aromas, more expressive toasted hints, balsamic notes and notes of leather, coffee and cocoa.
A very nice and very balanced set.
Flavour
Very intense and embracing attack, which leads to a long, tasty and meaty mid palate, with lots of ripe fruit on an intense background provided by the ageing wrapped in creamy vanilla. A very balanced and well-bodied wine with a perfect structure. Excellent acidity and very nice and perfectly integrated tannins. Very long and very persistent finish with a pleasant aftertaste.
