Tasting report Valduero Gran Reserva 2001
Color
Deep maroon red, with light tile red edges. Clean and bright wine iwth elegant tears.
Nose
Intense and complex aromas. Its deep notes of ripe black and red fruit are mixed with the smoky aromas and the hints of coffee, chocolate and leather with a touch of undergrowth. In the background, a subtle and elegant minerality is felt along with its good balsamic aromas.
Flavour
Elegant and powerful wine with great intensity, which increases as it passes through the mouth. It has a wide and powerful attack and a velvety, tasty, fresh and dry mid palate. Its aromatic complexity is felt once more dominated by the aromas of ripe fruit and fine woods. Well bodied wine with high quality integrated tannins, which still need some time to finish polishing. Excellent acidity and a very long, very intense and very persistent finish.
