Features Rento 2004

Rento is the wine for ageing produced by the impressive winery Matarromera. It is a wine made from selected grapes, very carefully elaborated in the traditional and fully manual way.
It is made of Tinta del Pais, selected from vineyards aged of more than 25 years. The grapes are manually selected both in the field and on the selection table at the winery. The first fermentation takes place in steel tanks and the second fermentation is conducted in 50 American and French oak barrels, in which the wine stays for 18 months. Once bottled, the wine is aged for 24 months in the cellar.
Limited production: little more than 15,000 bottles.
It is recommended to aerate this wine for half an hour before serving it.
A very elegant and silky Spanish wine that seduces from the beginning.

Tasting report Rento 2004

Intense cherry red colour with clean with purple reflections. Bright, well covered wine with good tears.

Intense and complex aromas. Its expressive notes of ripe black fruit dominate this aromatic set and gain in intensity as the wine opens up and shows wide and mellow notes of plums. The notes of the wood also gain in importance as they mix with the tasty touches of spices, the aromatic coffee, the notes of liquorice and tobacco, and a delicate touch of animal leather.

A very elegant, well structured and full bodied Ribera del Duero wine with a silky and tasty mid palate. Its fleshy notes of fruit, wood and alcohol are perfectly balanced. The set is completed by a wide range of spicy and roasted aromas. A wine with a perfect acidity and polished, well integrated tannins. Long and very persistent finish.
