Features Pesquera Reserva 2008

A Gran Reserva wine with the purest expression of the wines from Ribera del Duero. It is made of Tinta de Toro destemmed grapes. After a long maceration of the entire grains, the wine is aged in American oak barrels for 24 months. Once bottled, the wine rests for 12 months in the bottle. 
It is recommended to decant this wine one hour before serving it. 
Although it is at an optimal moment to be tasted, this Pesquera Reserva is a wine for ageing, which will keep rounding out for a long time. It can be tasted within the next 10 years. 
A very elegant, nice wine from the Ribera del Duero. A round wine.

Tasting report Pesquera Reserva 2008


Dark and deep cherry colour with violet reflections. A clean and bright wine with a high robe and elegant high-coloured tear.


Intense and elegant aromas. Before swirling the glass, some wooden aromas are noticed which will become more elegant and creamy as the wine opens up. The notes of fruit appear slowly and progressively. Once it opens up, the notes of fruit become very ripe, as sweet as jam, and very expressive. Thew are mixed with a wide range of spices, tobacco, cocoa and creamy oak aromas that felt again along with delicate but noticeable hints of black pepper. In the background, an expressive minerality is noticed.


Very good, intense, wide and embracing attack and a long, tasty and dry intense mid palate with a smooth silky texture. Its meaty notes of stewed fruit become very tasty along with the spices and the toasted aromas, wrapped in a huge creamy smoothness. A wine with a perfect acidity and very nice elegant tannins (for the next year they will still be quite noticeable). Very long and persistent finish with very nice sensations. 
A great classic from the region of Ribera del Duero.
