Features
Aalto 2009 is the confirmation of one of the great
Ribera del Duero wines . It is intense, elegant, fresh and deep. It is more powerful than the 2008 vintage.
This wine is made of old Tinta Fina vines aged of 60-100 years. The grapes are highly selected and manually harvested. They go through a meticulous and traditional winemaking. 50% if the fermentation and ageing take place in new French oak barrels, while the rest is conducted in first and second year French and American oak barrels. Once bottled, this wine stays in the cellar for a few additional months.
An extraordinary wine with a great life ahead. It can be stored up to 2028.
It is recommended to decant this wine an hour before serving it. Undoubtedly, a great wine.
Color
Intense deep dark cherry colour. Well covered. Clean wine with elegant dense slow-falling tears.
Nose
Very intense, seductive and complex aromas. Its notes of quite ripe red and black fruit are released along with very intense noble wooden hints wrapped in a range of spicy aromas of vanilla, black chocolate, liquorice and Havana cigars. Its balsamic aromas and its subtle mineral touches round out this great wine.
Flavour
Elegant, very tasty and concentrated wine with an excellent, very bulky attack and a silky texture. It shows a long, very intense mid palate with notes of fleshy fruit wrapped in the creaminess provided by the aromas of sweet spices, bitter cocoa and fresh liquorice. It has nice noticeable tannins, a fresh and balanced acidity and a very long and persistent finish with very pleasant toasted aromas. A concentrated, complex and friendly wine.
The pleasure of a great wine.
