Features
Priorat wine, with a great expression of fruit and the slate of Priorat soils. It is produced by the same winery as the great Doix wines.
It is made of Grenache (a large proportion from 70-90 years old vines and some from young vines), Carignan from old vines and some small percentages of Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet from young vines. After a long maceration, the wine rests for about 14 months in French oak barrels.
It is recommended to airate this wine for one hour before serving it.
It has a great storage capacity as it can be stored until 2020.
A great wine from Priorat and a great way to discover this D.O.
Color
Intense cherry red colour with purple edges. Very good robe. Dense slow-falling tears.
Nose
Very seductive and intense aromas. Its notes of very sweet, almost candied, black fruit and some notes of juicy red fruit are released along with abundant aromas of spices, mainly oriental and noble toasted hints provided by the ageing in oak, outstanding notes of magnificent and very suggestive cocoa and a notable balsamic nuances, on a large mineral background (reminiscent of the typical slate from the region). It takes time to open up, but after swirling the glass, it becomes an explosion of aromas.
Flavour
Very good bulky attack with abundant sensations that coat the mouth with sweet notes of fruit and great velvety toasted aromas. Very tasty wine, with good and nice tannins which still need some time to round out. Very good and balanced acidity. Very long and persistent finish that leaves a good mineral sensation in the background.
