Features
Great wine from Priorat with an extraordinary personality and character. It has a limited production (5,000 bottles) because it is made from century-old vines (some of which were planted in 1902) located on the vineyard after which this wine is called. These vineyards are spread over 3 hectares of steep areas with typical licorella soils.
The 2008 vintage was excellent thanks to an optimal climate which contributed to the successful development of the grapes. Grapes were manually harvested and selected in the vineyard. Double selection in seletion table. The winemaking process takes place separately according to the variety and the vineyard. It was aged for 16 months in new French oak barrels and bottled in May 2010 without any previous fining or filtration. It rested in the bottle for 12 months approximately.
It is recommended to decant this wine one hour before serving it.
A wine that can be saved form long. It will evolve until 2028.
It is the purest expression of the land and the surrounding licorella soils. Great elegance.
Color
Intense and deep purple colour. Clean and bright wine with a high layer and elegant, dense, slow-falling tears.
Nose
Very intense and expressive, concentrated and complex aromas. Its abundant notes of berries in compote are mixed with the refined toasted aromas and the subtle notes of spices. An elegant and intense mineral background rounds out this absolutely pleasant and harmonious set.
Flavour
Superb! A pleasure! A wine with a bulky and embracing attack and a surprisingly fresh, soft and silky mid palate. Very balanced wine, with very nice and tasty tannins (even if they are still noticeable) and a special refreshing acidity. It is very long and persistent and leaves a subtle mellow aftertaste.
