Features
This wine is part of a collection of three varietal wines called "Singularitats d'Orto". For this wine, the variety used is the Ull de Llebre (also known as Tempranillo).
Wine created by Jordi Beltrán, one of three partners in the winery. It was named after the property Pujoles, which is part of a estate called Les Sorts, which a great solar loading which contributes to the grapes' ripening. This wine undergoes a slow maceration for 28 days and is aged in oak barrels for 3 years.
It has been considered as the best Crianza wine in the Guia de Vins de Catalunya (Catalonia Wines Guide).
It can be stored for 3-4 years.
The production is limited to 556 bottles.
Color
Very dark cherry colour with violet borders. Clean and bright. Dense legs.
Nose
In the nose it does not seem to be a Montsant wine. It shows very concentrated and expressive aromas. Its floral aromas (violet) are released along with many expressive notes of red and black fruits and lots of mineral hints with very subtle touches of wood.
Flavour
It is very powerful and full-bodied in the mouth and shows no acidity. It has a great balance and very lively tannins. Long and very, very persistent finish with fruity and mineral hints.
A great wine made of a surprising Ull de Llebre.
