Features Perelada Finca Espolla 2008

Third vintage of this very personal red wine by Perelada, made of a special blend of Monastrell and Syrah from vines grown on a unique vineyard with characteristic black soils, which are the result of the slate content, and with a very particular climate.
After a 15-month ageing in new barrels from Allier, this wine was left to stay for a few months more in the bottle.
It is recommended to aerate the wine for at least an hour before it is served.
A single-estate wine with a great personality.

Tasting report Perelada Finca Espolla 2008


Intense dark and very bright maroon cherry colour with purple edges. Dense tear that stain the glass.


Very intense and powerful aromas. On first nosing, its intense and juicy notes of ripe black fruit are noticed with some spicy touch. When it opens up, a wide range of aromas is displayed mixed with the fruit and providing it with lots of nuances. Hot spices, black olives, coffee, tobacco, cocoa, liquorice, smoky and creamy notes, fresh balsamic aromas and some subtle floral hints are noticed. There is also a constant touch of a deep minerality that gains in intensity over the time.


Very large, very expressive, very wide and embracing wine. This powerful and at the same time light wine, with a silky, fleshy and fresh mid palate, coats the mouth with notes of very mellow ripe fruit and a expressive minerality. Its excellent acidity gives liveliness and freshness to the wine. It shows rich tannins and a long and lingering finish that leaves spicy sensations.
An elegant and very tasty complex but easy-drinking wine.
