Features
The aim of Gancedo's winery is to recover local varieties of Bierzo, such as Mencia, Godello and Doña Blanca. Xestal perfectly meets this goal.
It is made of Mencia from vines aged of 60-100 years. Traditional crop with very low production per vine. This wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, clarified with egg white and lightly filtered.

Color
Intense and dark cherry colour. Bright. Thin tears.
Nose
Intense and powerful. Lots of notes of ripe fruit are released with very expressive toasted and spicy notes and a touch of milk and toffee, which gain ground over the aromas of fruit.
Flavour
Good and embracing attack. Tasty and silky mid palate in which the fruit takes center stage. Fresh and well balanced expression. Very nice, long and persistent finish, which leaves a good toasted and spicy aftertaste.
