Tasting notes Viladellops Garnatxa

Sight
Ruby red with purple hues. Full robe and an abundant tear.
Nose Touches of ripe red fruit and fresh liquorice notes. Reminiscences of balsamic and lightly balsamic. Enjoyable base of tones of resin. Taste Very good attack, with a smooth mid-palate. Bitter notes, red fruit and good acidity. Persistent and medium-finish.
Sight Ruby red colour, with a violet rim. Low-medium robe. Abundant tears on the glass. Nose Notes of ripe red fruit prevail (redcurrents and plums), some refreshing alcohol notes, spices, fresh balsamic notes with menthol touches and smooth aniseed hints. Light toasted touches emerge with nice touches of resin. Taste Good attack and smooth astringency. Nice palate with alcohol-soaked red fruit, bitter notes, good acidity and noticeable spices adding strength. Alcoholic, light, and enjoyable. Medium petsistence and finish. Aftertaste of ripe fruit and smooth alcohol-soaked notes felt at retro-olfaction.

Winery Finca Viladellops

Today, the D.O Penedès is experimenting with viticulture and winemaking like no other region in Spain, home to a vast range of different grape varieties. The region is home to traditional white and red varieties, foreign ones, noble ones, as well as those that demostrate instrisic qualities. As well as the grapes, the production techniques used are also worth noting, the location of the vineyards, the yields per hectare, the wines produced using traditional, original or even exclusive blends, the different ageing times, as well as the complexity of the different barrels used!  But the reality is, given the vast diversity, it can be difficult to pinpoint what really defines a wine from the Penedès, since there are so many types of wines and wineries in the region. However, there is one common denominator of the wines from Penedès, and that’s balance and quality.
